The Titans’ starters have played three series combined in the first two preseason games (one against Green Bay, two against Tampa Bay). They’ll play at least that much today. But coach Mike Vrabel didn’t give a clear indication of whether he’ll have first-teamers in for the entire first half and even into the second half, as teams often do in what’s usually the starters’ final tune-up before the regular season.

The Titans went 1-3 during last year’s preseason, only to go 9-7 in the regular season before advancing to the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and winning a playoff game for the first time since 2003.
Vrabel, in his first year as a head coach, began his NFL playing career in Pittsburgh. He was athird-round pick by the Steelers in 1997 and spent his first four seasons with the team.Wasn’t a very good start," Vrabel said with a smile, “but it was certainly a start. I kind of stumbled out of the blocks, but it finished better than it started."
