An undrafted free agent from Notre Dame, Adams has impressed when given the opportunity in training camp, though he has battled injuries and missed the Eagles’ second preseason game and a handful of practices. He’s battling with third-year pro Wendell Smallwood for the fourth running back job slotting in behind Jay Ajayi, Corey Clement and Darren Sproles, none of whom will play against the Jets.

Eagles coach Doug Pedreson pinpointed another player in particular that he plans to utilize extensively for the first time — undrafted free agent running back Josh Adams.
