The 49ers and Texans conducted a pair of joint practices in Houston, on Wednesday and Thursday. Jennifer Chan was on hand, and broke things down for each day:

The 49ers opened their preseason with a 24-21 victory last week at home against the Dallas Cowboys. It took a 14-point fourth quarter, led by third string quarterback Nick Mullens, to get the victory.

The core starters played the first series, with several starters getting a second series, and some younger starters getting well into the second quarter.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan has said the starters will probably play a little more this week, but not much more.season with a 24-21 victory last week at home against the Dallas Cowboys.
